Crikvenica se nalazi u Primorsko-goranskoj županiji, 40-tak kilometara južno od Rijeke. Smještena je na ušc'u rjec(ice Dubrac(ne, izmedu Sopaljske i Kotora. Nalazi se na škrtoj primorskoj zemlji i vapnenac(koj podlozi. Ima oko 7000 stanovnika i glavna djelatnost je turizam.
Crikvenica je danas, nesumnjivo, najvec'e i najpoznatije turistic(ko središte i klimatsko ljec(ilište u Hrvatskom primorju. Sa 2500 sunc(anih sati godišnje Crikvenica se ubraja u najsunc(anija mjesta u Europi. Turizam u Crikvenici ima stogodišnju tradiciju. Prvo kupalište sagradeno je vec 1888. g. Tri godine kasnije Crikvenica je dobila i prvi hotel, a vec 1891. g. tiskan je i prvi turistic(ki vodic( Crikvenice. Danas Crikvenica ima oko desetak udobnih hotela, tridesetak odmarališta, brojne vile i ljetnikovce, ure?ene plaže (tri plaže nose Europsku Plavu zastavu), sportske terene, zatvorene bazene s toplom morskom vodom i lijepa šetališta uz more (skoro cijelim obalom Crikvenic(ke rivijere prostire se šetalište uz more, od Selca do Kacjaka).

Crikvenica is placed in Primorsko-goranska županija (county), app. 40 km south of Rijeka. It is situated at the mouth of a small river Dubracina between the hills Sopaljska and Kotor. It is placed on the poor coastal ground and limestone basis. It has approximately 7.000 inhabitants and its main activity is tourism.
Crikvenica is today, certainly, the biggest and most known tourist center and spa on Croatian seaside. With 2500 sun hours per year Crikvenica is one of the sunniest places in Europe. The tourism in Crikvenica has a hundred year old tradition. The first bath was built in 1888. Three years later Crikvenica got its first hotel and in 1891 the first tourist guide of Crikvenica was printed. Today Crikvenica has about dozen comfortable hotels, about thirty rest homes, numerous villas and summer hauses, organized beaches (three beaches are carriers of the European Blue Flag), sport fields, closed swimming pools with warm sea water and beautiful promenades along the sea (it spreads almost along the whole coast of Riviera of Crikvenica from Selce to Kacjak).
